Introducing Pi Fire, Our Favorite Fire Pit Topping

The sun is inching closer to the horizon, and you’ve gathered your loved ones around a smokeless Solo Stove fire pit for an evening of laughs and jabs when suddenly you hear a growl. It’s not the dog who is receiving pets a few feet away. It’s your stomach. The s’mores aren’t going to satisfy this craving, which is becoming more urgent with each passing minute. You’ve been looking forward to this moment all day.

It’s time to introduce the show-stopper and kick this gathering into gear. You head inside to bring out the dough, already rolled out and covered in sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, and onions. You prepped it for this very occasion. In less than 10 minutes, you’ll all be eating an artisan pizza. In the meantime, you’ll pique curiosity and revel in your friends’ questions about your new Pi Fire as your perfect pizza bakes over a smokeless open flame.

What Is Pi Fire?

Pi Fire combines the best of our Solo Stove products to bring relaxing and portable pizza-making to your smokeless fire pit. This accessory is designed to nest on each Solo Stove fire pit model and provide a leisurely cooking experience for you, your friends, and your family.

Pi Pizza Oven Or Pi Fire. What’s The Difference?

The original Pi Pizza Oven is a dual-fuel oven that bakes pizza in 90 seconds at 900 °F. It’s the perfect solution for those looking for a fast-working addition to their modern backyard kitchen.

Pi Fire brings pizza prep to a casual environment where time is on your side. Baking at 500-650 °F, Pi Fire bakes pizza in 5-10 minutes, and because of the slower bake time, less turning is required. Pi Fire also comes with a storage and carry case allowing you to pack it up and take it wherever your Solo Stove fire pit goes.

Features And Ease Of Assembly

Pi Fire is made to elevate your smokeless fire pit experience by bringing the smells, flavor, and experiences of cooking pizza over an open flame to the backyard, campsite, or tailgate. You can literally make a delicious ‘za anywhere your Solo Stove can go because Pi Fire is just as packable, portable, and easy to use.

Getting Pi Fire ready to use from box to burn is as easy as pie! You’ll unpack the oven, legs, screws, washers, cordierite pizza stone, heat-resistant gloves, and a carry bag. Simply attach the three legs to the base with the included screws and washers.

As soon as your fire is burning efficiently, meaning the logs have caught flame and are burning hot enough that you don’t notice much smoke, simply nest Pi Fire on top of your Ranger, Bonfire, Yukon, or Canyon (formerly Yukon 30”) fire pit.

To keep the stone hot, you want to achieve a flame dancing lightly off the bottom of your Pi Fire. With Pi Fire, a raging fire with a secondary burn is not ideal, as it can create soot in your oven and on your pizza. Using an infrared thermometer, check the temperature of the center of the stone every 5-10 minutes. Add a log if the temperature stalls or falls. You’ll want to aim for +500 °F within 30-45 minutes.

Enhancing Your Experience

To make cooking even easier, we enhanced our bamboo peel and stainless turner peel to better equip you for cooking over the fire. Our extra wide bamboo peel allows you to easily launch 16” pizzas into Yukon Pi Fire, while the turner’s longer handle gives you more distance from the heat and more control when rotating your pie.

For a perfect bake with Pi Fire, you’ll want to turn your pizza every 1-2 minutes and position the most undercooked parts toward the back of the oven.

Pizza AND Fire Pit Night!

Pi Fire brings the best of both worlds to the backyard for the ultimate outdoor pizza night. Whether you’re cooking for the masses with Pi Pizza Oven or looking to enjoy a leisurely evening with Pi Fire, the results are the same: good times and good pizza.
